Personal Project
An on-going project that starts from investigating the visual shapes created for “Machine Eyes”: Aerial photo calibrations targets, television test patterns, optical code like QR or barcode. Showing tribute to Hito Steyerl’s film How Not to Be Seen: A Fucking Didactic Educational .MOV File, this project yields experimental type design, writing, and interactive AR programs as outcomes in different stages.
December 2023: initial draft of AR type, and identification test with letter “P”, “E” and “A”.
December 2023: Initial AR Type face: full alphabet.
March 2023: a 2.0 version of AR type that supports not-bordered, object-based AR target 3D animation.
May 2024: an outdoor test with the “The Guide To Be Seen” type poster, made during my residency at USC Roski School of Art and Design.
September 2024: AR lettering for INSCRIPT, a promotion for my upcoming talk at the online event.
